Ready to collect sediment from the world above

[PEACE POETRY]

If love could find you, I - us
then please do so
Rescue us from our sinking ship
that is destined to set forever on the bottom
and collect barnacles of regret

If the light of God, Buddha and Jesus
could enlighten us sinners
now and at the hour of our death
We'd make sure our electric bills were paid in advance
so that you could zap us at your pleasure

If good sex could inflame us with enough passion
to live sustainable lives
respect the rights of others
and restore heaven on earth
the Joy of sex would be our national anthem

But . . .
we dwell in the darkness
void of  love and passion
ready to collect sediment from the world above
extinct and forgotten
