I Speak of Palestine

I speak of your insistence
on believing what you’re told
to be so blind:
you must have learned
what not to know
to be so cold that you can say
“These people do belong
inside this tomb.”
They cannot move
or live
or eat
And, yes,
I speak of Palestine.

You cannot hold
its fate is just
and not be part
of grinding up
their bones and blood
to mix with desert earth
and olive oil
to build your state, your jail;
a wall surrounds
their place, like this:
a torture room
a starving field
a stolen home
a human shield
a bullet for a child
and poison gas on village streets
their food, their food!
Their food is gone
you cleanse
and push
and punish
taking what you want
to have for you alone.

We know it’s rape,
and though the world records
your names and deeds,
the future courts and trials
will not revive
the dead, displaced and missing.

And yes, I speak of Palestine.

She’s not a soldier. She’s not a threat. She’s a child with a smile too big for the war Israel and its allies are waging against her.

May God bless the work of your hands and your life.

Putting aside that this girl is clearly struggling with malnutrition, it’s been a long time since I’ve seen a girl braid her hair like this.

Sometimes, even in the hardest moments, small simple things like a braid can bring a touch of normalcy and hope.

Our second water truck made it to Al Jalaa today. The kids came running with empty jugs — heavy even for a healthy child. But these little ones are thin, tired, and barely holding on. I can’t imagine how it is for them now.

From the heart of our kitchen in Al-Nasser, Chef Abu Jawwad and the team prepared a big batch of lentil soup today — not just for those inside the shelters, but also for the many families outside who are just as hungry, just as in need.

The situation leaves no room for small portions or turned backs. So we doubled the quantity, kept the fire going, and served until the very last pot was empty.

Here’s your daily dose of starving Gazans — kids and elders clutching empty pots, hoping for a scoop of something warm to silence the hunger. The same faces, the same desperation, the same endless line.

Not because of a natural disaster. Not because of a shortage of food in the world. But because a system built on blockade, siege, and erasure decided they don’t deserve full plates — or full lives.

At one of our kitchens in Beach Camp today, the crowd was overwhelming — hungry, tired, and holding on. You see it in their eyes: not just hunger for food, but for normalcy, for relief. This isn’t just a meal. It’s survival, day by day.

Our team delivered water in Gaza City today — in streets we used to know. I look at the images and try to place them, but I can’t. It’s like you recognize it, but not enough to name it.

Chef Abu Jawwad and the team showed up today with bulgur, zucchini, and green pepper — but this is more than just a meal. We’re dealing with starvation, with genocide. These pots are a lifeline. And every plate served is a stand against letting our people fade in silence.

Bulgur and veggie soup for the kids at Chef Abu Jawwad’s today. They came through the rubble — quiet, tired, but present.

This only works because our teams are from Gaza. They know the alleyways, the people, and how to fix the problems that happen behind the scenes. It’s still hard — unbelievably hard — but without them, none of this would be possible.

Our deepest appreciation to them, and to everyone who helps make this happen.
