Statement of His Holiness the Dalai Lama on the 52nd Anniversary of the Tibetan National Uprising Day

Today marks the 52nd anniversary of the Tibetan people’s peaceful uprising of 1959 against Communist China’s repression in the Tibetan capital Lhasa, and the third anniversary of the non-violent demonstrations that took place across Tibet in 2008. On this occasion, I would like to pay tribute to and pray for those brave men and women who sacrificed their lives for the just cause of Tibet. I express my solidarity with those who continue to suffer repression and pray…

The Black Day 911 9-11 (September 11th 2001)

A small sorrow distracts; a great one makes us collected. ~ Richter

One of the latest recommendations before ipeace shuts down.

Noa, Achinoam Nini

There are very few things worst than spiritual violence. Food for thought.

Noa is probably one of world's fiercest peace fighters. In her lifetime fight for peace she made many sucrifices, and paid a very steep price (career wise and personal) because of her burning belief that peace is possible in the Middle East and her burning dedication to help in achieving it.

Ironically, the highest price she is still paying came about a blog post she…

WHAT IS LOVE?

WHAT IS LOVE?

I have heard that there was once an ancient and majestic tree, with branches spreading out towards the sky. When it was in a flowering mood, butterflies of all shapes, colors and sizes danced around it. When it grew blossoms and bore fruit, birds from far lands came and sang in it. The branches, like outstretched hands, blessed all who came and sat in their shade. A small boy used to come and play under it, and the big tree developed an affection for the small… Continue

I saw you in the mirror, Instead of smiling at your pretty face,

I rushed away, Thinking you could be better.

I didn't honor how beautiful, You have become,

In your day-to-day tasks,

I have forgotten your courage. And although you've become…

ALICE MILLER Biography

the most significant thinker in psychiatry today

Interviewed by Diane Connors

"I describe pictures of people, use histories of them as mirrors. And then many come and say, `This is exactly

what I felt all my life but couldn't say.' I don't want to be a guru. I don't want people to believe me. I only encourage them to take their own experience seriously."

China survivors cremate their dead

— Survivors of Wednesday's deadly earthquake in western China's Qinghai provice have begun mass cremations of the dead.

Buddhist tradition says that the dead should be left outside for vultures to eat in a so-called "sky burial", but with so many bodies to dispose of the monks have sanctioned the cremations.

Hopes of finding more survivors are fading and the rescue efforts are turning into a clean-up operation.
