Hey, turn around! If you want to know who I am, look and listen.

I no longer want to hear only what everyone is hearing. I no longer want to see what everyone else only sees. I wan to hear the primal voices, the ancient whispers, the songs and silences, ignored but waiting—sustained by heartdrums in choral…

Saint Sketch - Anandamayi Ma - Last Part

Dear All,

Ma accepted all faiths as paths leading to the Lord. Once, during a kirtan she walked out in trance to the mazhar of a Fakir [Muslim Saint]. When the Muslim caretaker there opened the doors she went round the mazhar chanting from the Koran. Though she had no knowledge of the Muslim way of worship she offered namaaz just as Muslims do. The Muslim caretaker accompanied her on her return home and participated in the Kirtan and even fed Ma with a piece of candy. …

Mother earths demise

It sounds final, Mother earths demise. But we are well on our way!

the average human produces about 4.4 pounds (2 kg) of garbage a day, or a total of 29 pounds (13 kg) per week and 1,600 pounds (726 kg) a year. This only takes into consideration the average household member and does not count industrial waste or commercial trash!

Gandhi: Democracy and Fundamental Rights by Dr. Ravindra Kumar & Dr. Kiran Lata Dangwal

"I understand democracy as something that gives the weak the same chance as the strong.” –MK Gandhi

Introduction: All those who are familiar with the ideas of Mahatma Gandhi or those who understand his philosophy, they very well know that he was an anarchist. He was for such a stateless society in which life becomes perfect. People, without any prejudice, never become hindrance to one-other’s routines. Moreover, self-regulation,…

Saint Sketch - Anandamayi Ma - Part 1

Dear All,

Since time immemorial Mother India has been giving birth to Liberated beings (Jivan Muktas). Not only has she produced countless such sons but also daughters. Devahuti, Gargi, Maitreyi, Chudala, Madalasa, Akka Mahadevi, Mirabai, Sarada Devi, Aavudayakkal, Aandavan pitchai, Janaki Mata are but few of several women Saints. Their lives illustrate that a woman is no weakling but has the capability to reach the highest state. These women saints have been from various…

Education and Responsibility of Teachers’ Community

Education is a process to play the vital role in man’s life without compromising to the basic spirit in its root. It is simultaneously a process of making the prevailing circumstances conducive to pave the way for the development in real sense. As per the demand, dynamism and refinement are its foremost features and in the absence of which neither it becomes meaningful nor it can be fruitful. Each and everyone associated with the process of education at any level, the community of…

EARTH DAY

Look all around—

it is beautiful!

Even heavy cloud

on the east

bears a promise of rain.

Many white birds

float on calm sea waters.

Blackbirds of trees

delight in the sky.

Here

under human feet

a green voice of the Earth

ascends

and is singing.

Lovely

the daylight’s kisses… Look

—it is beautiful!

Dear All,

Each one of us is good at giving advice. We tell our children to be obedient, have pleasing manners, be disciplined etc. We tell our juniors at work to be punctual, focused, over-achieve etc. We tell our spouses to be balanced, mature, cool etc. We tell our neighbours to be friendly, helpful etc. Our expectations from others always borders on perfection.

Ever wondered what the…

The Law of Focus and Attention

Dear All,

Wherever we focus our attention is where our thoughts are directed with most frequency and interest. Thus energy is produced in this direction, whether positive and beneficial energy or negative and harmful energy.

If we have a complicated mind, which thinks too much about certain things unnecessarily, our attention may be led towards the obstacles, problems, upsets and the things we worry about from a critical and negative viewpoint. By paying more attention to…
